Winter is coming and it's the season of Kapha:

This time of year as the nights draw in, kapha dosha becomes dominant and we are encouraged to look inward, make our nests, indulge our senses and rest our minds and bodies. As kapha accumulates within the atmosphere we should celebrate this through loving and gentle activities, slowing down and reflecting on our past year. This time can also feel heavy, slow and stagnant for some, we may lack motivation and feel a low or dullness which can be encouraged by excess kapha. Through this retreat day we hope to share in this lovely time with you, give you some tools to help you embrace it, but also to keep you going and help you through the harder moments.

Conflict and communication workshop through understanding the doshas:

As we come into this contradicting time of looking inward while we are invited to socialise and look outward through the holiday season, it can feel intense and challenging. In this interactive workshop we will deep dive into how the doshas effect our communication and conflict styles with the hope of better understanding the dynamics that exist within our personal and social lives, equipping us with the skills to look after our own natures while still respecting and leaving space for others.

Ayurvedic cooking workshop:

Together we will explore spices from an ayurvedic perspective and make a delicious heart warming Beet, Spinach and Puy lentil lasagna (and a gluten free version) followed by a luxurious sticky toffee pudding. All vegan friendly. These meals will be sattvic (non-agravating), helping the body find balance and supporting our digestion. They will include organic seasonal vegetables that nature has gifted us at this time of year as a way of balancing kapha in the environment.

Coming in to winter with Ayurveda:

During our afternoon session we will explore some practical tools of how we can stay balanced through the winter months and embrace kapha energy while not letting it overwhelm us.

You will learn ayuvredic massage techniques for the face and head that will help with congestion and sinus aggravation but also offer an indulgent gift to ourselves that we can use at any time.

9.50am: Guest arrival

10: A welcoming circle and day introduction

10:20-11:20: a Kundalini Yoga Series with Deva Wild to invite balance and connection.

11:20-11:30: break

11:30-12:45: Conflict and communication workshop with Ayurveda

12:45-2.00: Ayurvedic cooking workshop and time to journal

2.00-2:30: Lunch

2:30- 3:30: Coming into winter workshop including guided Ayurvedic face massage

3:30-4:30: Relaxation and integration
